The Mokulua Islands are located about three quarters of a mile off Wailea Point in Lanikai, district of Kailua, Oahu. They are famous for their majestic beauty. The larger island is called Moku Nui and the smaller one Moku Iki. When the surf is up the waters around the Mokes become a favorite surf spot. On Kona wind days such as these the waters take on a glassy appearance. In the foreground a green sea turtle known as Honu enjoys a breather. | |||
